The mission of DOE’s EERE is to create and sustain American leadership in the transition to a global clean energy economy. Redhorse supports EE-1 and other EERE leadership positions, DOE EERE business functions in 13 technical program offices, and the acquisition systems. Redhorse provides budget and strategy support, including detailed business process improvement studies, to assist in streamlining key aspects of the budgeting and performance management practices, as well as its financial grants management workflow and tracking systems. IN Redhorse completed an evaluation of the current operations of the Budget Office formulation, execution, and analysis functions and identified issues and potential opportunities for process improvements. Redhorse staff conducted a detailed review of existing Budget Office roles and responsibilities for budget activities, reviewed draft procedure documents and standard operating procedures, and overall EERE budget office activities. The final recommendations spanned process, workforce and technology changes to be implemented.
