Redhorse Announces Three Key Promotions

Melissa Houghton, formerly the company’s Vice President (VP) of Business Development, has also had a role change to VP of Corporate Growth. As VP of Corporate Growth, Melissa will focus on creating a growth culture, expanding Redhorse market penetration and increasing industry visibility. Her role will include pipeline and opportunity development, business intelligence and visualization, facilitating growth-centric partnerships and overseeing the communications and marketing and price to win programs. Melissa has nearly 30 years of senior leadership experience in management consulting firms supporting the US Federal Government. She was most recently a vice president at CGI Federal, holding positions in both account management and corporate growth. Her experiences will serve as a springboard to institutionalize a growth mentality at every level of Redhorse and will accelerate the company’s momentum as a successful, mid-size Federal Government solutions provider.

A Pennsylvania native, Melissa attended Dickinson College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, as well as a Masters of Public Management in National Security Policy Studies from the University of Maryland.

Melissa Thierry was promoted from Finance Manager to the role of Director of Finance, Planning and Analysis. Over the past ten years, Melissa’s role at Redhorse has included pricing proposals, working with contracts, accounting, and project controls. These experiences with the company give her the backing and the content knowledge to help lead financial forecasting, reporting and analysis. Her role will also continue to include leading the project controls team, and will give her oversight of the planning process. Melissa’s promotion reflects Redhorse’s growth and evolution over time from a small, to a mid-sized company, and her experience will help Redhorse support those changes externally and internally.

Mark Shiffer was promoted from Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to Director of Engineering.  His new role will build on his strengths as an engineer, data scientist, and AI practitioner. Mark will spend time developing the organization and culture of the digital services engineering team, while leading the design and build out of digital service’s dev/sec/ops/ML infrastructure. These activities will support the continuing integration of data science, AI/ML, and dev/sec/ops across Redhorse’s diverse portfolio of projects. He will be working with Vincent Bridgeman, the VP of National Security services, and Jodi Deprizio, the Director of Data Science. Mark has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of software engineering and AI, as well as experience shepherding engineering teams through organizational change and maturity.

 

Mark attended Cornell University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and went on receive a Master of Science in Computer Science from California State University in Long Beach.  Mark was a PhD candidate in the Cognitive and Neural Systems department at Boston University.
