Redhorse Awarded Advanced Metering Infrastructure Communications and Engineering Support

Redhorse Corporation has been awarded a contract with American Systems Inc. to provide communications and engineering service in support of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) program at nine Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest installations. The AMI program involves installation of smart meters for electricity, gas, water, steam, and other utilities to better control these consumables and to comply with the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Meters are being installed at Navy and Marine Corps installations, including Naval Base Coronado, Naval Base San Diego, Naval Base Point Loma, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, Naval Air Station Lemoore, Naval Air Station Fallon, Naval Air Facility El Centro, and Naval Post Graduate School Monterey. Redhorse is providing communications engineering support for the AMI systems at all nine installations, including testing the network as it is built for throughput, hop count, and interference, as well as overall network improvements.
