Redhorse Awarded Contract to Provide Support Services to EPA
Redhorse has been awarded a contract to provide support services to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the peer review of summary reports prepared for the National Aquatic Resource Surveys (NARS): the National Coastal Condition Assessment (NCCA); the National Wetlands Condition Assessment (NWCA); and the National Lakes Assessment (NLA).
The NARS are collaborative efforts among the EPA, states, and tribal nations which provide nationally consistent and scientifically-defensible assessments of our nation’s waters and can be used to track changes in condition over time. These detailed surveys will help evaluate the success of national and regional efforts to protect and restore water quality. They will play an important role answering the questions of policy makers regarding water quality and the efficacy of current restoration and protection efforts.
Redhorse will support EPA to develop the screening criteria for peer reviewers, selection of peer reviewers, and the compilation and dissemination of peer reviewers’ comments. In support of this highly visible project, Redhorse will provide the necessary management and technical support, and provide a final report compiling the peer reviewer’s comments.
