Redhorse Awarded USPACOM Pacific Environmental Security Forum Support Contract
Redhorse has been awarded a contract to provide support to the U.S. Pacific Command’s (USPACOM) Environmental Security Program. The Pacific Environmental Security Forum (PESF) is the cornerstone of USPACOM’s program to explore solutions to environmental security issues throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
The PESF, held annually since 2011 and hosted by rotating countries, leverages and builds upon existing relationships with Pacific Rim militaries. The objectives of the PESF are to:
- Share lessons-learned and best practices in climate change mitigation and adaptation at a strategic level, operating procedures, and environmental security information.
- Develop sustained cooperation between partner nations to ensure sustainable environmental management.
- Propose environmental security projects for theatre deployment at an operational level.
- Develop a “network of networks” of experienced military environmental planners to assist in operations and sustainability.
Redhorse support will include project management for the duration of this project; identification of conference topics and speakers, preparation of forum agendas, information papers, briefings and other documents; and developing workgroup activities associated with the 2017 Pacific Environmental Security Forum (PESF) to be held in Anchorage, AK in May 2017.
